Called Conference

2027

The theology of the body has been a foundational doctrine of the Christian church since its conception.

The Christian tradition places value on the entirety of a person—body, soul, and spirit. We are made in God’s image, and are woven together with the threads of the material and immaterial. If we believe that we are only a body—or live like it, allowing our sexual impulses to rule—we are on the path to hedonistic materialism. If we believe that we are only a spirit or soul—and live like it, disrespecting legitimate needs of the body or rejecting the significance of God-given maleness or femaleness—then we could be on our way to repackaged forms of Gnosticism or body dysmorphia.

Every disciple of Jesus Christ is called to understand their identity as a son or daughter of God. We are called to find our place within the Body of Christ leaning on the orthodoxy that was entrusted to the early church thousands of years ago.

The Theology of Body

Join us for this year’s Called Conference, where we will be exploring:

  • what it looks like to find joy in and care for your physical body in a culture brimming with body dysmorphia, gender dysphoria, comparison and insecurity.

  • how to fight loneliness and be better connected within your church community.

  • the theology around sexuality, morality and anthropology that has held steady through the centuries.

“God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as He wanted them to be.” (1 Cor 12:18 NIV)

The Called Conference is a gathering place for sexual discipleship and spiritual formation. A space for gospel-centred conversations about sex, identity & relationships, with an invitation to be transformed in the presence of God.

This event will be hosted in partnership by Renewed & Transformed Ministries and The Union Movement.
